A walk you like to do again
Today
I'm going to talk about a very special walk. It was on Chichén Itza, Yucatan,
Mexico
.
This walk takes
place on a family vacation trip that was like 4 years ago. I went with my
parents to visit Cancun. We visited lots of lovely places there but my favorite
was the ancient ruins of Chichen Itzá. We bought a tour that included walking
through the ruins of the ancient mayan civilization. It started early in the
morning because the hotel was like 2 or 3 hours from Yucatán! So we took the
bus and when we arrived, there was a place with a special feeling of freedom
because it was far away from the city and the cars. Also, there were a lot of
visitants from all over the world and it became quite annoying when i wanted to
take photos.
We had a very good sunny day at first,
but while we started walking the clouds
suddenly appeared and it started to rain. Luckily, I had my hat on. And between
the tropical rain and all the people we tried to listen to the guide, who was
explaining the importance of the mayan pyramids and its religious importance
because they used to do sacrifices there! They believe that there are still a
few mayans but they don’t do sacrifices now…
And one of the things that amazed me was when
you clapped your hands in front of the Chichen Itzá pyramid and you could heard
a Quetzal, the sacred bird for this civilization. It was a very special walk,
we were very hungry at the time because we hadn´t had lunch yet but It worth it
because all the landscape and beautiful ruins we could visit. And I definitely
if I had the opportunity would come back again to that place
Wow! That sounds like an amazing walk. I'd love to visit Mexico.
